Connect to the PodCamp Montreal iPhone App

PodCamp Montreal - iPhone AppAt PodCamp Montreal, we’ve always worked to offer you the best networking experience possible so you can discuss emerging tendencies and new media with other PodCamp attendees. In the age of mobile phone apps, it only makes sense that we develop an app that gives you access to the PodCamp schedule, the speaker list and other practical information on an iPhone app. Admit it. It beats a piece of paper you carry around in your pocket.

So without further ado (drum roll please!) we’re happy to announce the launch of the PodCamp movement’s first iPhone app … and it’s free! Big thanks go out to Ze Agence / ZeLaurent and his head developer, Thomas Dobranowski, for the pro-bono development of the PodCamp Montreal app.

Developed in record time (3 weeks!) the app allows you to:
• Read about the various sessions and find them on the schedule
• Find presentations by room, and by day
• Consult the speaker list and read their profiles
• iOS 3.1.3 compatible and available on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

Call for volunteers

If year after year your experience at PodCamp is a positive one, and if the event goes smoothly, it’s thanks to a dozen volunteers who help us bring PodCamp to life.

If you want to give back as well as develop your network, we invite you to join our ranks by becoming a PodCamp Montreal 2010 volunteer.

Caroline Fontaine is back this year to coordinate our team of volunteers and our event logistics. Feel free to send her a note confirming your availability and contact information. She’ll followup with a schedule tailor made for you.

As was the case in previous years, we’re pleased to welcome students, who benefit from this rich networking experience, but we’re happy to have everyone who wants to contribute on board to help us make PodCamp a success.

And now a word from our sponsors…

PodCamp Montreal wouldn’t be possible without the support of a fantastic group of corporate sponsors, who believe in our mission and in the value of encouraging Montreal’s social media community. Over the next few weeks we’ll be presenting the profile of these PodCamp angels, but until then, check out the “Sponsor” sidebar to the right of your screen. You’ll see some very recognizable logos there, a testament to the fact that PodCamp has friends in high places.

Event partner / Gold sponsor : HKDP (the Quebec division of Hill & Knowlton)

Silver sponsors : Rogers, iWeb

Bronze sponsors : Marketwire, ARTV, Île Sans Fil

Media partners : Branchez Vous, MacQuébec

Friends of PodCamp : iTradeLive

…and we’re lucky enough to have other great companies finalizing their sponsorship plans as we speak (more on that later).

On behalf of my colleagues on the PodCamp Montreal organizing committee — Sylvain Grand’Maison, Laurent LaSalle and Laurent Maisonnave — I want to thank everyone who supports us in our endeavours. We’re thrilled to be able to bring PodCamp to Montreal for a third year running, and we’d be utterly lost without you.

Cheers!
