MONTREAL’S LARGEST SOCIAL MEDIA CONFERENCE
GEARS UP FOR ITS 2nd EDITION
PODCAMP MONTREAL, SEPTEMBER 19th AND 20th 2009
MONTREAL, September 16 2009 – Over 400 Social media specialists and enthusiasts from Canada and the United-States have registered to attend the second edition of PodCamp Montreal on September 19th and 20th. This free unconference is the largest social media event on the 2009 Montreal calendar, featuring 40 presentations over two days. Topics covered will include podcasting, blogging, microblogging, video and social networks. The future of business, government and the media and music industries will be examined.

Location: UQAM’s Design School, 1440 Sanguinet, Montreal
PodCamp Montreal speakers will include Quebec’s first podcaster and New York Times bestselling author of the recently released ‘Trust Agents’ Julien Smith, Montreal social media marketing guru Michelle Blanc and representatives from the media including Dominic Arpin, Jean-Michel Vanasse, Louis Lemieux, Philippe Marcoux and Duncan Stewart.
This second edition of PodCamp Montreal will feature an invitation only podcasting bed-in at the John Lennon and Yoko Ono suite of the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel, to mark the 40th anniversary of the couple’s famous visit to Montreal. Selected PodCamp Montreal speakers will come together to produce a special podcast. Media are invited to attend.
Last year’s inaugural event attracted 234 participants from across Quebec, Canada and New England to Montreal. An additional 1266 unique visitors from around the world accessed the event’s video live stream and archives.
Networking events include Friday evening at La Quincaillerie (980 Rachel East) and Saturday evening at Oven (330 Ste-Catherine Street East).

PodCamp Montreal is a community-based, not-for-profit event.
